Welcome! And thank you for your interest. We are now accepting applications from artists and curators to exhibit in 2020. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until Sept. 30, 2019, and decisions will be announced in late Fall 2019.
About the Gallery
The Pearl River Mart Gallery is an extension of the iconic NYC Asian emporium, which was founded in 1971 as a “friendship store” and has since become a beloved retail destination and community space. Our gallery is one of few in the nation dedicated to Asian American culture. We especially celebrate Chinatown, New York City, and any joyful manifestation of cross-cultural sharing.
Every six to eight weeks we feature a new artist or curator. The Gallery is located on the mezzanine level of our downtown store, located in a burgeoning arts district at the intersection of Tribeca, Chinatown and SoHo. We enjoy working closely with the artist to shape a show that resonates with a unique audience of art enthusiasts, downtown residents, Asian Americans and of course Pearl River shoppers.
Our sole criteria for selecting artists is simple: your work must matter to the Asian American community. There are no limitations as to medium and you need not be Asian or Asian American.
- Deadline: Applications accepted on a rolling basis until Sept. 30, 2019
- Exhibition period: Calendar year of 2020; six exhibition slots roughly beginning in January, March, May, July, September and November.
