The Longest Table: Potluck, Mahjong, and Lots of Friends
When you invite more than 200 of your closest friends for potluck and mahjong, you'd better bring your appetite AND game face.
Our AANHPI Heritage Month celebration looked a little different this year. While still held in the gorgeous West Edge space in Chelsea Market, we partnered with the Longest Table and Green Tile Social Club to host an event on June 1 as a way to relax and unwind after a very hectic May.
Community leaders, arts organizations, business leaders, entrepreneurs, chefs and restaurateurs, activists, and more were invited to celebrate with us with just two requirements: bring food and friends. The result was a positive smorgasbord of exquisite dishes, home-cooked meals (including Uncle Chen's Stir Fried Beef from Mr. Chen himself), delicious takeout, and even fast food (which we're definitely not mad at).
Also on hand were generous donations. Thanks to:
- TAAF and Pitta & Baione for their support
- Acqua Panna, Ming River Baijiu, Tsingtao, Lunar Hard Seltzer, and Tea and Milk for the refreshing beverages
- Canal Sound and Light for the light and sound
- Photobooth NYC for the superfun photo booth
- Lady Wong, 50 Hertz, and Popadelics for the treats
- Ground Cycle for the composting and recycling — The sustainability stats: 82 pounds of material were composted and four huge boxes of food were donated to community fridges!
- West Edge for the beautiful space
Shouts also to Lucky Ox, Very Cool Ice Cream, and Tasting India for the tastings, and many thanks to all the table captains who came through with food and friends:
- The Longest Table
- Green Tile Social Club
- Jamestown
- Christine Wong with Rawsome Treats, Sen Saigon, All Well Greens, and Mama Lam's
- Vivian Chen with Bessou, 8282, and Nudibranch

And thanks to all the guests who joined us!
What do you think: same time next year?
