Pearl River Mart is always on the lookout for talented people to join our team. We’re currently seeking friendly and enthusiastic Store Managers, Assistant Managers, Sales Associates (both full and part time), Porters, and Administrative Staff for our SoHo and Chelsea Market locations.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for retail, food, community, design, and of course, cool Asian stuff. Candidates with food retail or restaurant experience may want to apply specifically for a position at Pearl River Mart Foods, our food-focused store at Chelsea Market. Fluency in an Asian language or Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Pearl River Mart
  • Work enthusiastically and cooperatively with ownership, managers, and associates to create exceptional retail experiences and deliver impeccable customer service
  • Work a varied schedule that can include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Stock and restock items, operate POS system, clean and tidy store and fixtures as necessary
  • Service multiple customers at once during high volume periods with courtesy and sincerity
  • Anticipate customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues
  • Staff and manage regular and special events like tastings, demonstrations, and performances
  • Develop pride for Pearl River Mart and extensive knowledge of entire inventory
  • Refuse to accept anything less than an organized and visually inspiring store
  • Ensure all guidelines are followed related to cash management, safety and security, and health and sanitation
  • Promote brand and products according to latest direction from management and marketing
  • Other duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Two years experience in a customer-facing retail or restaurant setting
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of and passion for Asian culture
  • Energetic and outgoing personality with strong communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial and creative spirit, but also hard-working and detail-oriented
