A Case for Pencils: Amy Hwang and Jeremy Nguyen Discuss Curating Asian Babies

The co-curators of our latest art exhibition spoke to painter Jane Mattimoe at A Case for Pencils about ASIAN BABIES, including what sparked the idea. From Jeremy:

There had just been a show featuring some of the women of The New Yorker, and I was truly inspired by the idea of bringing together the people whose work you loved the most into one room for one show.

From Amy:

Jeremy approached me at the opening of the “Funny Ladies of the New Yorker” exhibit at the Society of Illustrators a little over a year ago. He had a germ of an idea to set up a similar exhibition showcasing New Yorker cartoonists of Asian descent.
