Chai Snickerdoodles
Level up your snickerdoodle game with some chai! This cookie recipe features Tasting India's Amma's Chai Masala. The cookies pair excellently with a delicious cup of Cutting Masala Chai. Recipe makes around 20.
Ingredients for the cookies
- 1½ cups flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 tsp Tasting India Amma's Chai Masala
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 6 Tbsp butter melted, and cooled slightly
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 Tbsp soy milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Ingredients for the topping
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tsp Tasting India Amma's Chai Masala
Recipe
- In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients together.
- Drizzle in the melted butter, stirring to combine.
- Mix in the egg yolk, soy milk and vanilla.
- Form into 1.5” balls.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and chai masala.
- Coat each of the balls lightly with this spiced sugar by gently rolling them in the bowl one at a time.
- Freeze for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with 2” space in between each ball.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes.
- Immediately after taking the cookies out of the oven, sprinkle with a pinch of the chai sugar.
- Let cool completely before storing.
